Carbnado: My Carb-Cycle Journey

We all want to gain muscles and lose fat at the same time and I'm here to help figure out the best strategy for doing this. I hope my Carb-Cycle journey will help you Learn More.

This Carb-Cycle journey has been very interesting towards my long term food journey. I've still got some obstacles to figure out.   I'm not eating enough food to build mass .

When it comes to eating right, we really have to have a set plan on how we're going to achieve our goal.  Below is my eating plan so far. I got my calculations from Daily Burn.com, so check it out (link below).

Low Carb Days:

Carbs: 97.5 grams
Protein: 243.75 grams
Fat: 243.75 grams

High Carb Days:

Carbs:390 grams
Protein: 195 grams
Fat: as little as possible

If you want to figure out your Carb-Cycle journey go to Daily Burn: Carb-Cycle Meal Plan to learn more and calculate your daily consumption.

Most people know these two things:
     1. To gain muscles you have consume excess  calories.
     2. To lose fat you must eat less calories.

This is my dilemma the food portion.  I'm eating very lean balance meals, but I'm having a hard time eating 243.7 grams of protein and fat a day on my Low-Carb days, without eating more then the 97.5 grams of carbs my calculations allowed.

I've been mapping out my daily consumption using a excel spreadsheet and graphs below. This has been a big help on how I can analyze and improve my daily consumption of fat and protein.  I've been using MYFITNESSPAL to track my daily food intake which has also helped keep track of the items I'm eating.

If you document what you're eating it will make your healthy eating journey go much smoother.  I do feel that I'm getting better with the "Carb-Cycle Journey" each day, but I will continue figure out the best foods to bring to work each day.

For instance, I prep every Sunday for lunch Monday through Thursday. I try to cook every night depending on my cycle (in green).  At the beginning I started to see from my chart that I wasn't getting enough protein, so I decided to add tuna packs to my 10 o'clock am snack.  It was the best place to add more of those high-protein types of food through out my day, plus it was my smallest snack.

I'm still learning and I know a journey should never end, so if you're a trainer, nutritionist, or another blogger who can help me figure out how to get to the 243.7 grams or if I should let me know. If you're on my twitter please like this and give me some advice.  Thanks and keep #GIRGITIing

Jetting Your Kids Weight Away: Childhood Obesity

http://girgitnation.blogspot.com/

I was reading this article, "Water Jets In Schools Help Kids Lose Weight: This Is How Water Can Help Combat Obesity," (see below) and I started to feel a certain way about the truth of this study.

To give you an overview of the article. Seven years ago in New York experts installed filtered water dispensers into the New York City schools.  They only put dispensers in about 40 percent of the schools during the academic years 2008-2009 through 2013-2013.

The experts are claiming from the finding that installing the water jets resulted in moderate but significant level of weight loss in children.

This is where I call bull-donkey on their findings.  A new dispenser for water caused the decrease in child weight loss, because I'm looking at one thing

WATER FOUNTAINS!!!!

Water Fountains have been around since 19th century, and been in schools FOREVER!!!  Why is changing the way they get water making such a big difference on the children's weight?  Better question is are they really making a difference or is it something else?

Remember New York City just passed a law, where public schools were no longer allowed to sell sweetened beverages (Cokes, Pops, or Sodas depending on where you are from).

My question to these experts would be, "Did they analyze the schools who don't have water jets to see if they had a reduction in weight loss in their schools too?"  "Did the private schools who are allowed to sell sweetened beverages see an increase in their students weight?"

I love water and it's great they have an cool source of water for schools, but I don't want other schools in America to go out and pay the $1000 (which isn't that much), to purchase these water jets thinking it's going to stop obesity.  Making laws like no sweet beverages in schools is most likely the reduction in weight loss.

My Carb-Cycle Journey: Will it benefit Me?

Sooooooo going to start the Carb-Cycle Journey.  I refuse to call it a diet because I don't think managing a healthy food cycle is a bad thing.  This can be a lifestyle to put your health-on-top (stole that from my girl Beyonce "Love On Top"). Today I'm testing out the Low-Carb part of the journey. By going to PF Chang and getting the Lettuce Wrap Pairing Chicken w/ a vegetable spring roll.
From what I gathered High-Carb days you need to eat most of your healthy carbohydrates and protein, but try to limit fat.  On Low-Carb days you need to eat healthy high protein and fat.  I'm still learning so more to come on this journey to take my body to the next level.

I'll explain more once I get all the facts and tricks. Plus picture of me at the beginning.  Let hope for the best. I need to know the do's and the don't of this process.  Hey I get a cheat meal, so that is a plussssss!

Keep smiling and keep my mantra "Get it Right, Get it Tight"

Drinking My Muscles Away

I read Men's Fitness article called Living a Double Life the article was talking about drinking alcohol, and does it cause your muscles progress to decline. Like the guy in the article most of my friends are into the bar scene and most of them drink liquor or beer.  Most people old enough to drink alcoholic beverages don't see any harm from drinking, and just feel they can continue to work off those calories. Check out the calorie count for some of your favorite beverages and try to choose better. Did you know that most alcohol have 7 calories per gram?  Here are 5 popular alcoholic drinks that everyone love!  To keep that body tight, so you can stay right choose wisely.
(standard cocktail size)

Shot of Jameson Irish Whiskey= 72 calories
12 oz Corona Beer= 148 calories
Vodka & Red Bull= 240 calories
Glass of Pinot Gringo= 156 calories

This article isn't trying to say, "stop drinking all the way", but it's trying to persuade you too think about what you're drinking. I give it 3 snaps and a drunk man "I'm not drunk". As social individuals we cannot just stop, but we can slow our consumption . Which is a great ideal.  When you are drinking your body can't metabolize alcohol & burn fat, so until the booze is gone your body is not running like a well oil machine. Yes, that means pizza, hot wings, or my one time favorite pancakes are off limits.  When you eat a large amount of these things your stomach is drunk, so I cannot tell you it's full and it's in pain of stretching.  The best line of defense for drinking is limiting your calorie intake. The day after drinking like its Spring Break is to get Beta alumina will help stimulate your blood flow.  Also take some amino acids, or BCAAs, which all these thing will help flush the liquid poison out.  Read the article and tell me what you think.

Because you are reading my articles here are some drinks that are good for you & will F-you up!!! Cheers!!!

2015 BYE BYE & HELLO 2016

Ok people......

I have been slacking on putting my #HEALTHONTOP for the last 2 months.  I know most of my friends  and family are saying get out of here I don't see it.  I've been controlling my health for years and I know when my body is changing. I've been saying it's winter time I'm trying to #Gainz.....Yes with a Z.  That means using healthy food to put on lean muscles, but that ain't happening in "Mr. Lewis Neighborhood".

I've always had a certain feeling when people would tell me, "I'm a emotional eater and I can't work out".  I couldn't understand that in the past, because I can say this today I was never stressed out back than, but now work stress and life stress can really change your mindset.

Who is this guy I keep saying to myself because usually I'm in control because I'm always "GIRGIT Corey"

In 2016 I'm going to get back on track.  I've stated to myself that I'm going to stop drinking for 2 months (help me lord).  I really want to cleanse myself and get back in front of that camera and try to get some modeling jobs.  I've moved away from this career and feel this contributed to my nonchalant fitness attitude.  So come join me on here to see the changes I'm going to do by summer 2016 and push me along.  I may not be the best writer but I'm going to document this journey help me stay on top.  Get ready for cooking, fitness tips, and pictures galore.

Thanks

Thanksgiving Gainz vs. Gains

People look at me and think that boy don't eat!!! Well the devil is a lie!!! This past thanksgiving my family had enough food to feed Mose and all his people crossing the Red Sea! Now usually I'm good about saying no I'm good and watching everyone else eat but not this year instead of watching I'm going to eat.   I made a plan I would do a crossfit class at my crossfit gym (9:00am) then cook and enjoy thanksgiving.  I want everyone to know that if you eat it us it!  I ate bad so I have to work that food off! Is it going to be that same day? No you're going to have to train to make in GAINZ instead of GAINS. Which are two different things

GAINZ- food to improve your body muscles
GAINS -food you sit around and increase your waist size!!
